The owners of this 1928 Linden Hills Tudor loved their neighborhood but needed a brighter, more functional kitchen and a better rear entry. With a deep appreciation for global architecture from their time living abroad, they wanted to honor the home’s historic character while incorporating modern style, improved outdoor connections that they had enjoyed in homes abroad.
A one-story rear addition completely transformed the kitchen and added a spacious mudroom. A new natural stone patio seamlessly extends the living space outdoors. Large sliding doors flood the kitchen with natural light and provide year-round views. The remodel also introduced a walk-in pantry, a stylish bar/service pantry connecting the kitchen and dining area, and a refreshed powder room. Upstairs, a reimagined bathroom embraces a modern, bright aesthetic while remaining true to the home’s timeless appeal.
This thoughtful renovation blends historic elegance with contemporary functionality, creating a home that is both beautiful and practical for modern living.
